Kraken is running a February offer that pays a 3% on new deposits to the platform, a move that breaks from the complex trading competitions usually favored by crypto exchanges. The offer is easy: deposit cash or crypto, and the exchange will pay. The ceiling is high – up to $1 million in eligible deposits per user – meaning the payout could reach $30,000 for those willing to move significant volume.
This is not a gamified leaderboard or a lottery. It is a liquidity incentive aimed directly at account holders willing to park assets on the exchange. The offer runs through early March and operates exclusively through the standard Kraken mobile app (not the Pro version). It is a straightforward value-add for existing and new clients.
Kraken’s Offer in Detail
Participation requires the standard Kraken App. Users who primarily rely on the Kraken Pro interface or the desktop site must switch to the standard consumer app to opt in. The offer itself functions through the “Auto-Earn” feature. If this feature is not active at the time of opt-in, the app will ask the user to enable it.
Rewards are delivered within 14 days following the March 9th conclusion of the promo period. The payout currency is specific: for most global users, the value is delivered in USDG, Kraken’s proprietary stablecoin issued in partnership with Paxos. Canadian participants, facing different regulatory constraints, will receive their match in USDC.

Flexible funding: You can deposit in one transaction or many — all eligible deposits during the promo period count.
The headline rate is attractive, but the terms of service reveal the true cost of the bonus: time. To prevent users from gaming the system (depositing solely for the bonus and immediately withdrawing), Kraken has a clawback clause that requires users to avoid net withdrawals below the bonused deposit amount for 18 months.
If the balance drops below the threshold during that period, the exchange reserves the right to reclaim the bonus. This effectively functions as a term incentive, rewarding long-term capital retention over short-term velocity.
While the assets are not technically “locked” – you can withdraw them – you may forfeit the 3% yield if you do so.
